In October 1973, Monique and Maurice Touzeau, founders of Touzeau-Cadeaux in Annemasse, organised an exceptional exhibition at the town hall: «2000 years of French silverware», presented by the Bouilhet-Christofle museum.
This unique event retraced the history of goldsmithing, from Gallo-Roman times to the XIXᵉ century, through remarkable pieces from France's heritage. It also offered visitors an exhibition of dressed tables - “Les Tables d'aujourd'hui” - devised by students at the Bonneville hotel school, illustrating the art of entertaining in all its forms.
For the people of Annemasse and the surrounding region, this exhibition was a highlight, celebrating the beauty of craftsmanship and the refinement of tableware. You can read the original article below.
